We would like to take this opportunity to tell you a bit of where it all began 20 years ago, and how we went from an idea Elsje Swanepoel had, all the way to a company striving to help you reach success.
In 2000 our founder and CEO, Elsje Swanepoel, decided to start a business as an Accpac/Sage 300 dealer. Her initial goal was simple: to be independent. Elsje felt that her chances of achieving success would be better if she went out on her own. Fuelled with experience and driven by ambition she decided to bet on herself and set out to succeed. With no capital to spare and only her support structure, she succeeded in her mission. She directed all her focus on her first client, First National Bank. And so, the journey started.
A good start is unfortunately not all it takes and to keep the ball rolling, she had to focus on growing her business and building the company’s reputation. After the First National Bank implementation was a resounding success, the word spread and her second and third clients came knocking on her door. Three years after VIZI’s inception, it finally became a multi-employee company and Elsje Swanepoel’s dream of expansion was realised.
The road to success however is not always smooth sailing. Some pitfalls and challenges are external, but some can be self-inflicted. As Elsje explains: “not thinking big enough and making decisions based on where you are currently and not where you want to be, are both factors in not achieving the heights you set out to reach”. She further shares that striving and working towards a goal fuels an unmatched motivation fundamental to the success of a company.
There will be days that getting up early and working hard feels near impossible, but it is important to remind yourself of the difference you are making in people’s lives. It is not about you; it is about your client.
