We sat down with Bruce to get to know a little more about him and share with you what makes Bruce Brilliant 😊
Tell us more about your vizi journey, where it started and what you are excited about looking forward.
My journey with Vizi started 13 years ago, way back in 2009, when I met CEO and Founder of Vizi, Elsje Swanepoel. Vizi was doing a demo for the company I was working for as a Junior Accountant. I was excited about the solution she was offering, since we were still working on a DOS based interface with very limited functionality or any real data extract abilities. My career took its course shortly after and I continued to grow through many different industries and roles, until our paths crossed again in 2017, where I was the Financial Manager at the South African branch of a multi-national manufacturing concern, in dire need of a fully integrated ERP system. I recalled Vizi’s product demonstration all those years ago and the positive impact it had on the organization, and got in touch with Elsje, where Vizi then continued on to implement a full ERP system, managing processes from A-Z. A few years later I moved on from this company to other ventures, but just a few short months after leaving, found myself working for this visionary company. Now, after a few years of working for Vizi,
I am still excited and inspired daily by the possibilities of improvement that we bring to our clients over their wide range of industries. As we learn and grow, so do our customers, and where they face challenges, we see opportunity and have the ability to resolve and simplify. Looking ahead, it excites me to see the growth path that Vizi is on as a company and the growth and development that our stellar Vizi Team members experience and how that contributes to the improvement of their lives. Moving into new territories, having new product and solution offerings, constant upskilling and growing Vizi’s foot print keeps us relevant and energized.
What would you say is your strengths – professional as well as personal?
My strengths professionally and personally are very much the same and that’s one of the main reasons I am so easily in flow. If I had to specifically identify, my greatest strengths are that I strive for excellence in everything I do, from the smallest task to the largest project, I am an intrinsically motivated person and do not require outside influence or rewards to achieve results and I have strong leadership skills and am very emotionally aware.
No relation to martial arts? Lol
Growing up with a name like Bruce Lee had its challenges. I once took up karate in primary school but promptly decided that this would be a very bad idea.
What do you spend most of your energy on?
Customer satisfaction is a top priority for me and any serious business impact always receives urgent support. Following from that, I specialise in and support requirements in Manufacturing and Accounting, Financial and Operation Business Intelligence reporting as well as System Implementation and Team Management.
When you aren’t being brilliant at Vizi, what do you do for fun?
I thoroughly enjoy running and after a long break of almost 2 years during the covid-19 lockdown period, am back on the road and currently training to achieve my goal of finishing the Comrades 2022. I also enjoy reading, restoring old furniture and breathing new life into old, tired and previously loved houses.
Brilliant Bruce’s motto:
The secret to your future is hidden in your daily routine – Mike Murdock. I am a firm believer that what ever energy and effort you put in today, will be the rewards, results, and achievements that you will have tomorrow, next week, next month and the years to come – if you show commitment, consistency, perseverance, and dedication daily.
We can agree that Bruce is surely one of the most interesting people, that without a doubt, inspires the masses.
